Career Pathways

Ensuring a skilled and qualified workforce is a key component of Brackenridge's long term planning. Providing opportunities to further your career and enhance your skills is a key focus. Careerforce training is a core competency for all staff and opportunities to complete this qualification are encouraged for all current staff and compulsory for all new permanent staff.

New Staff complete an orientation programme on appointment and then follow up with set core competency training modules. Further opportunities for upskilling and accessing education are offered through relevant NZQA education.

As well as employing fulltime staff Brackenridge also has an extensive internal casual pool. All vacancies for positions will be advertised.

Let’s get real is the framework that Brackenridge uses to support people working in mental health and addiction to develop the right knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to effectively support people using services.

Let’s get real was developed by the Ministry of Health in consultation with service users, whânau and the workforce.

The Seven Real Skills
